Anglers Alliance Tasmania launches a wide-ranging promotion to the United Kingdom in November as part of its ongoing strategy to establish the UK market.
An informative flyer, left, about fishing in Tasmania and highlighting a competition to win a superb, handcrafted cane rod valued at $2000, is being widely-distributed through a partnership with the UK’s largest fishing travel web site Fly Odyssey.
During November there will also be special presentations by Tourism Tasmania and Tourism Australia representatives, the Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Guild, and a special tie-in with the annual UK Fly Tyer’s Guild contest.
AAT chairman Richard Dax features in a comprehensive interview being published in Britain’s most respected fishing publication The British Trout and Salmon Magazine, which emphasises the unique uncrowded fishing available in Tasmania.

In addition ‘Rise – Fly Fishing Film Festival 2009‘, the world’s largest fishing film festival, hits theatres on a European tour.
Over the last four years the festival has become the premier event on fly fishers calendars across nine countries and two continents.
The festival will sweep Europe as a limited release and will stop in eight cities, including London, Reading, Edinburgh, Stockholm and Oslo.
Rise – Fly Fishing Film Festival 2009 features stunning movies from global destinations including Tasmania, Canada and Iceland.
Gin-Clear Media’s “The Source – Tasmania” is the feature movie of the festival. Part of a series, The Source exposes lesser-known fly fishing destinations from around the world.
The film festival will present the best adventure fly fishing films of 2009 in a big screen extravaganza. The mission of the festival is to inspire audiences with epic adventures, strong stories and big fish in pristine environments.
