Fishcare volunteers are hosting a number of events to encourage seniors to take up fishing during Seniors Week — the first week of October.

In the South an introduction to fishing session will be held at Apex Park, Huonville from 11am to 2pm.

In the Northwest there will be a session at the Cam River above the Bass Highway bridge on Friday 3 October, 1-3.30pm. Bring fishing gear if you have some and dress for the weather.

What is provided: Get some tips on the latest fishing rules, rigging gear, casting, and responsible handling and returning of fish. Open for those who have always wanted to try but thought it too hard and experienced fishers too!
